Your Safety First: Trained Crew and Sanitized Flights

Fly with Confidence: Safety, Training and Sanitization

Ever since aviation was possible, the fear preceding its concept has remained prominent. Whether it’s general aviophobia or just a nugatory concern, the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak has inarguably amplified the fear of traveling and aviation.

The Elephant in the Room: COVID-19 Sanitization

Mitigating the risks of flying especially during COVID-19 has become a priority in the aviation industry. Flying during this unprecedented time can be quite dismaying. At LIVT the health and safety of our staff and passengers is always our top priority. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we took extra measures to embrace the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The COVID-19 pandemic has created a constantly changing landscape at LIVT, and we are taking all necessary precautions to mitigate the spread of the virus.

To uphold a formidable level of sanitization, appropriate measures for daily aircraft cleaning and disinfecting has been put in place. While operating many flights every week, it is crucial for us to protect our members and staff. While there are obvious mitigations of contracting the virus by traveling private, we have allocated additional resources and policies to keep everyone safe.

Our Cleaning Procedure

Aircraft deep cleaning has been implemented to mitigate the chances of possible contamination. Across our network, all of our aircraft are going through our multi-tiered cleaning and disinfecting program. This helps us to ensure a clean and comfortable cabin for every flight. For the foreseeable future, you’ll see examples of these measures throughout your journey. You’ll be asked about your health and recent travel, have your temperature read before departure and fly with a mask-wearing crew. The aircraft will have been disinfected immediately after its last use to ensure that it’s safe for servicing by ground personnel and again, for your safety, before you board. Daily Cleaning and disinfecting integration have become a huge part of the aviation industry since COVID-19. For post-flight and pre-flight cleaning, our crew members use disinfectant-grade products that are EPA- approved and effective. Deep cabin cleaning is managed every night by our maintenance team. Any aircraft returning from a high risk region are immediately quarantined and disinfected. Knowledge is key and keeping employee awareness and protocol updated provides for a relaxing experience. Daily updates of the evolving situation, relevant operational information, and recommendations for safekeeping are shared with all our staff. Our crew is closely monitored and are prohibited from entering LIVT facilities and aircraft for 14 days upon exposure. isn’t that a relief!

Fit For Flight: Staff Training

The human factors in aviation play an indisputable role in flight success and safety. If you think about it, flying an aircraft is truly in the pilots’ hands. In fact, according to the NTSB investigations, over 88 percent of all chartered plane crashes are attributed to pilot error. In private or general aviation, loss of aircraft control by the pilot is the number one cause of crashes. With that said, the logical fear of flying in this scenario is rational.

How Our Staff Stays Fit For Flight

So the question remains: What do we do to mitigate these risks? Our staff is top-performing, strategically chosen, and high ranking individuals with over 10,000 hours of in-air experience. To guarantee top performance, our staff must meet above-industry standards. With the preliminary requirements of a 135 air care certificate; certifying the right to provide commercial air carriage, a federal background check, a 10,000-hour minimum time experience requirement with a turboprop or turbo aircraft, and the passing of all precautionary testing such as a drug test, LIVT can safeguard members. Furthermore, LIVT continually puts its staff to the test to verify that we consistently operate above standards. Once a pilot is hired, they must undergo multiple training modules, to make certain that they are fit for flight. The pilots must complete modules include but are not limited to: in-dock ground training, base training, aircraft/flight training and check ride with the FA. They must also complete a semi-annual proficiency training, pop-up quality control checks, policy and regulation checks, maintenance checks, and judgment/mental wellness evaluations. With over 9,000 hours of air travel, LIVT is proud to announce that we’ve upheld a faultless reputation with zero near-incidental occurrences.
